Billie Eilish performs emotional duet with Green Day at FireAid benefit concert

Billie Eilish made a surprise appearance during Green Day's set at the FireAid benefit concert on Thursday night.

The star-studded gigs were held simultaneously at the Intuit Dome and Kia Forum in Inglewood, California to help raise funds for the communities impacted by the wildfires that devastated the state earlier this month.

Taking to the stage, Green Day broke out into an emotional rendition of 2009 song Last Night on Earth, with the words Los Angeles in massive block letters on the screen behind them.

Singing the chorus, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong placed emphasis on the lyrics, "If I lose everything in the fire/ I'm sending all my love to you."

Then, to the amazement of fans, Eilish walked out onto the stage for the second verse. The Ocean Eyes hitmaker was dressed in a black-and-red striped top and black tie, reminiscent of Armstrong's signature attire.

"If you dare to second-guess, you can rest assured that all my love is for you," she sang.

At the end of the song, Eilish and Armstrong hugged and thanked the crowd for attending.

"Los Angeles. We are still alive! This is California. And we're all in this together. From the bottom of our hearts, we love you Los Angeles and we've got your back no matter what," the rocker declared.

Green Day performed 2016 track Still Breathing and 1994 classic When I Come Around too.

Meanwhile, concertgoers also saw Stephen Stills and Graham Nash reunite for the first time in almost a decade.

Backed by rock band Dawes, the pair sang the 1970 Crosby, Stills, and Nash hit, Teach Your Children.

"So pleased to be here, particularly with the great band Dawes, and my partner for so many years, Stephen Stills," Nash told the audience. "There's a very large community here in Los Angeles, home of many, many musicians. Whenever Los Angeles gets into trouble, the musicians are right there. And I'm proud to be one of them."

Crosby, Stills, and Nash officially split in 2015, with any possibilities of reconciliation ending when David Crosby died at the age of 81 in 2023.

Elsewhere, Anderson .Paak welcomed Dr. Dre for a California-themed set that included a rendition of 1999 hit Still D.R.E., and The Black Crowes brought out John Fogerty for a moving performance of Creedence Clearwater Revival's 1971 single, Have You Ever Seen the Rain?

The line-up for FireAid also included the likes of Alanis Morissette, Joni Mitchell, No Doubt, Pink, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Nicks, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga.
