Justin Bieber's team call out 'clickbait stupidity' over report about alleged 'financial distress'

Justin Bieber's representatives have blasted the "inaccurate assumptions" made in an article about his alleged financial problems.

The Sorry singer's team have responded to an article in The Hollywood Reporter which claims that the star is millions of dollars in debt due to the cancellation of his Justice World Tour in 2022.

"This is just clickbait stupidity based on unnamed - and clearly ill-informed - 'sources,' disappointed that they no longer work with Justin," they said in a statement to Us Weekly. "As Justin forges his own way forward, these unnecessary stories and inaccurate assumptions will continue. But they won't deter him from staying committed to following the right path."

The article featured several sources who suggested that Justin's music career was in turmoil following the departure of his longtime managers Scooter Braun and Allison Kaye.

Insiders told the publication that the Baby hitmaker was "overstretched" financially, despite selling his music catalogue for $200 million (£151 million) in 2023. The sources alleged that he owed an estimated $20 million (£15 million) to promoter AEG over the tour cancellation.

Addressing that particular claim, Justin's team told The Hollywood Reporter, "Any source that is trying to sell you a story about alleged financial distress... either doesn't understand the entertainment industry or, more likely, is trying to paint an unflattering portrait of Justin, which bears no resemblance to reality."

The 31-year-old postponed or cancelled several shows on the Justice World Tour in 2022 after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which left half of his face paralysed. He returned to the stage months later before cancelling the remainder of the tour, citing exhaustion and the need to prioritise his health.
