NewsMarch, 30 Lola Young gives update on 'drugs recovery' after onstage collapse
Lola Young has shared a positive life update after taking a break from the spotlight. The singer, who suffered an onstage medical emergency late last year, shared the good news with The Times newspaper. "I would rather, for the sake of my privacy, not say too much," she began. "But what I would say is that recovery is an ongoing process. I'm not the finished article, but I'm doing a hell of a lot better." Young clarified that she is in "drugs recovery", adding, "When you're in recovery... that doesn't necessarily need to mean drugs, but me specifically, yes." During her set at the All Things Go music festival in New York in September, Young seemingly mouthed that she was going to "faint" while performing her song Conceited, as seen in videos shared on social media. Within seconds, she stumbled, dropped her microphone and fell backwards, at which point crew members whisked her offstage. Following the incident, Lola assured fans she was "doing OK", but cancelled her performance in Washington, DC, the following day. She then announced an indefinite hiatus from performing, sharing that she would be "going away for a while". Young made a triumphant return to the stage at the 2026 Grammy Awards last month, where she took home the trophy for Best Pop Solo Performance. "I don't know what to say, thank you so much," she gushed as she accepted the award. "Obviously, you can tell by my f**king face that I'm very, very grateful for this."
