Jessica Simpson to Star in Netflix Documentary

Jessica Simpson is opening up her life once more for the cameras, this time for a new tell-all documentary. The feature, directed by BAFTA and Grammy nominee Joe Pearlman, is set to stream on Netflix in 2027.

Pearlman is known for his work on documentaries about Robbie Williams, Lewis Capaldi (including Lewis Capaldi: How I'm Feeling Now), and the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special, as well as Mourinho, a three-part series on the former Chelsea soccer manager.

Simpson first became a reality TV sensation over two decades ago with Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, which followed her marriage to Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees. The show aired for three seasons from 2003 to 2005.

Since then, she has sold over 20 million records worldwide, built a successful licensing brand, and released a bestselling memoir, Open Book. After stepping back from the spotlight, she returned to music last year with a pair of Nashville Canyon EPs. She also made a guest appearance on the legal drama All's Fair, starring Kim Kardashian and Glenn Close.

Simpson was married to former NFL player Eric Johnson from 2014 until their separation in early 2025. The couple share three children: daughters Maxwell Drew and Birdie Mae, and son Ace Knute.
