Sandford reveals depression battle

Frankie Sandford has opened up about the battle with depression which resulted in the singer's admission to hospital.

The Saturdays star, 23, said she had suffered from the debilitating illness since she was 15 and that her downward spirals could be set off by anything, even footballer boyfriend Wayne Bridge buying the wrong yoghurt.

She told Glamour magazine: "I got upset because Wayne hadn't bought the right yoghurts. I managed to convince myself that he didn't know me at all.

"It set off this spiral of negative thinking - If I disappeared, it wouldn't matter to anyone. In fact, it would make everybody's life easier."

Frankie told the mag that she believed she was "selfish" and "ungrateful" for not appreciating her "amazing life".

After having a series of panic attacks, Frankie, who now has counselling, group therapy and is on medication, was referred to a psychiatrist and admitted to hospital last October.

"I did lose myself but I feel like me again now. I try not to put pressure on myself. It's unrealistic, no-one's 100 per cent happy all the time," she said.
