Tom Fletcher going in One Direction

McFly's Tom Fletcher has started to write songs for One Direction's second album, according to reports.

Singer Tom penned I Want, a track on One Direction's debut album, and is now coming up with more ideas while on tour with his own band.

Tom told the Daily Star: "I can't wait to write more tunes for One Direction as I'm really proud of their success in America.

"I haven't been given a brief as to what kind of song they want from me, we're just waiting to see what I come up with."

McFly guitarist Danny Jones said the band were not bitter about One Direction's No 1 hit in the US Billboard Hot 100.

"I'm not at all jealous because they're so good at what they do and they're so likeable. They have earned it, and What Makes You Beautiful is one of the best pop songs of the last 10 years," he told the newspaper.
