Sande backing Arthur on X Factor

Emeli Sande has revealed she'd love to record with X Factor contestant James Arthur.

The Scottish singer - who picked up the Q Award for Best Solo Artist this week - met the talent show contestant when she performed with Labrinth on The X Factor's results show on Sunday.

"I really like James Arthur. I haven't watched too much but I definitely saw his performance at the beginning. He just blew me away," she said.

"I met him at the weekend and I'd love to get in the studio with him. I think he'd be great. He's brilliant."

But Emeli said she'd never have entered The X Factor when she was a budding singer.

"Not for me. I think I'd try any other route than doing it. I couldn't face going on that stage every week, it's nerve-wracking."

Emeli tied the knot with boyfriend Adam Gouraguine in September and said married life was treating her well.

"I'm very happy. I feel very grown up and I just feel good, really nice," she said.

"This year's been more than I've ever imagined so I'm very happy."
