Shania Twain Pays Tribute to Dolly Parton

Shania Twain has spoken about how much Dolly Parton meant to her, reflecting on the late country legend's impact on both her career and her personal life.

In a conversation with Us Weekly, the Man! I Feel Like a Woman! singer said she had always deeply admired Parton's dedication to staying true to who she was. Twain, 61, described Parton as the ultimate example of authenticity in every sense, noting that the legendary performer never turned away from her own vision or perspective.

That quality, Twain explained, gave her strength in her work and in her everyday life. She added that Parton will be greatly missed, saying there could never be enough of her and that her absence leaves a significant void. Parton, she said, has been on her mind.

The Jolene hitmaker passed away on 25 August at the age of 80, following what was described as a brief fight with an undisclosed form of cancer.

Following Parton's death, Twain shared a tribute on Instagram, calling the star her mentor. The post included video of the two of them singing Coat of Many Colours as a duet on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2003.

In the caption, Twain wrote that there is a hole in her heart, but that the joy of simply thinking of Parton's smile will keep inspiring her for the rest of her life. She said she will always treasure the memory of performing Coat Of Many Colors with Parton, and closed with a farewell to her, wishing her rest in peace.
