Miley Cyrus Hints at Future Concert Residency

Miley Cyrus has hinted that a concert residency might be in her future.

Earlier this month, the singer revealed she will perform two shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on 16 and 18 October, marking the release of her new album, Bass Persuades. Rock band Model/Actriz will join as the special guest.

Speaking with Zane Lowe for Apple Music on Thursday, Miley called the gigs the "ultimate dress rehearsal".

Zane suggested that filling the Bowl would require a residency of 80 shows to meet demand. Miley replied that this had been her original "idea".

"This is the ultimate dress rehearsal. I've learned now through the queue that my calculations are correct, and people will come to me. I don't need to drive to you," the 33-year-old said with a smile.

Zane summed up the Hollywood Bowl dates as "proof of concept and potentially the beginning of something broader".

During the chat, Miley also joked about the appeal of playing close to home.

"I chose to do the show at the (Hollywood) Bowl because I knew that my bed was only going to be like a 10-minute drive home by 11 pm," she explained, adding that keeping a routine supports her sobriety. "And a big piece of that puzzle for me is my rest and my (recovery). You know, it comes from discipline."

Miley's tenth studio album, Bass Persuades, is out now.
