Oasis Desk Tapes Archive Heads to Auction

A large collection of previously unreleased Oasis recordings is going up for auction next month, with an estimated value of £1.2m to £1.6m.

Known as The Desk Tapes, the archive holds 63 live shows, soundchecks and over 100 hours of rehearsal material, all taken straight from the sound desk during the band's 1990s heyday. Littleton Auctions will run the sale in Evesham, Worcestershire on 3 October 2026, and the house calls the master tapes the only archive of their kind anywhere.

Owain Richards has looked after the collection for twenty years. His father worked as the band's front-of-house sound engineer as they became global stars. "Dad labelled everything, recorded everything and backed it all up to cassette, over and over," Richards said. "I grew up listening to these recordings. Oasis were part of the family as much as they were part of the culture."

Beyond the audio, buyers can bid on hand-written setlists, official tour itineraries, an Epiphone guitar played by the band and a genuine Oasis tour parka.

Also on the block is a rare pair of Adidas Kegler Super Ostrich trainers given to Noel Gallagher. Just 100 pairs were made in 2000 to mark the 100th anniversary of Adidas founder Adi Dassler.

Ben Homer, managing director of Littleton Auctions, called it one of the most exciting collections the house has ever offered. Bidding will be open online and in person at the Worcestershire saleroom, and anyone hoping to take part must register and pay a deposit before the event.
