NewsSeptember, 28 Taylor Swift Takes Video of the Year at 2026 VMAs
Taylor Swift claimed Video of the Year at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles for The Fate of Ophelia. It was her sixth career win in the category, and host Snoop Dogg handed her the trophy. During her acceptance speech, Swift devoted the award to Dolly Parton, calling her the ultimate showgirl. She praised Parton's vivid storytelling, saying that hearing her songs feels like watching the best music video ever made. Madonna was named Artist of the Year, finishing ahead of Swift, Ariana Grande and Bruno Mars. Holding her Moonman, she urged the audience to find themselves and believe in themselves. The win brings her career total to 19 VMAs. Best New Artist went to Sienna Spiro, who also performed her song Great Expectation live.
