beabadoobee Scores Second UK Number 1 With Pylon

beabadoobee has gone straight to Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart with her new studio album, Pylon. Released through Dirty Hit, it gives the London-based singer-songwriter her second consecutive UK chart-topper, after 2024's This Is How Tomorrow Moves. Her run of Top 10 albums remains unbroken: Fake It Flowers (2020) and Beatopia (2022) both charted high on release.

Further down the Official Albums Chart, Roger Taylor picks up his second solo Top 10 album as Violence Insane In A Beautiful World arrives at Number 6. It sits alongside his 2021 record Outsider, which reached Number 3 and stands as his highest-charting solo effort so far.

Miley Cyrus is back on the chart with Bass Persuades, a new entry at Number 13, while American alt-rock trailblazer Beck claims his eighth UK Top 20 album as Ride Lonesome lands at Number 15.

David Bowie notches his 72nd Top 40 album entry with The Shel Talmy Recordings, an archival compilation of his 1965 studio sessions with producer Shel Talmy, debuting at Number 17.

Post-punk mainstays Echo & The Bunnymen return to the charts with Apples For Isaac at Number 19, their first new studio album in 12 years.

Liverpool indie-rock four-piece The Cheap Thrills hit a career milestone as their debut album, Keep Cheap, enters the main chart inside the Top 40. The band – Lewis, Anton, Terry and Callum – also took Number 1 on the Official Albums Downloads Chart this week.

The rest of the Official Albums Chart Top 5 is unchanged at the top, with Michael Jackson's The Essential holding at Number 2, Olivia Rodrigo's You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In at Number 3, Sienna Spiro's Visitor at Number 4, and Olivia Dean's The Art of Loving re-entering the top flight at Number 5.
