Lucy Spraggan inks record deal

X Factor star Lucy Spraggan has landed a record deal.

The singer has signed up with Columbia, which has Adele, Beyonce and David Bowie on its books.

She tweeted on Wednesday morning: "I am incredibly proud to tell you... I am officially signed to Columbia Records! Prepare for some music!"

Lucy, who has already been recording in the studio, was forced to quit the X Factor midway through last year because of illness despite making it to the live finals.

But the songs she wrote such as Tea And Toast and Last Night wowed the judges.

Speaking before she landed the record deal, the singer, who was working as a portrait seller in Sheffield before she went on the ITV show, said: "I've already got about 200 songs written up and ready to go, although obviously not all of those will make it."
