NewsApril, 5 Wiley makes up with record companyWiley has appeared to patch things up with his record label Warner, after reportedly claiming he would part ways with them. The 34-year-old grime star, whose real name is Richard Cowie, admitted he was unhappy with their choice of the next single, Lights On, from his new album The Ascent and said he would not be appearing in the accompanying music video. "If my first 2 singles were dance and third was drum and bass ... why am I doing a dance single 4th ... my musical mind is better than that. I had a summer record last year I do not want another one," he tweeted. Wiley - who enjoyed chart success with Heatwave featuring Ms D - later wrote that he was leaving the label, but the tweets were later deleted. He wrote: "I was being silly... "lights on" aint that bad... but I just need to switch up the sound tho... I'm a innovator I need to show it ..." He added: "I am happy with this album. This album has the perfect balance... No doubt people will follow the blueprint of this balance ... Paving the way again like always. This is the best album I have ever made in my life." The Ascent, which features collaborations with Tulisa Contostavlos, Chip, Far East Movement, Emeli Sande and Tinchy Styder, is out now.
