NewsApril, 10 Kasabian: Our new album is coolKasabian have revealed that their new album sounds "electrocuted". Frontman Tom Meighan compared the group's upcoming fifth record, the follow-up to 2011's Velociraptor!, to The Prodigy. "It's like The Prodigy's dirty remix thing. It's cool and it's got really heavy drums - it sounds electrocuted," the 32-year-old told MTV News. It will be the band's first album without American guitarist Jay Mehler, who left Kasabian to join Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye. Tom, who formed Kasabian with best friend Serge Pizzorno in 1999, revealed he left on good terms. "What happened with Jay is we weren't doing many gigs this year and he needs to be on the road," he said. "Jay is my brother and I got him into this band in 2006 and I looked after him and nurtured him to the ways of the UK, so I'm gonna miss him dearly and I love him." He added: "There's no malice. He's gone to a great rock band - Beady Eye are amazing - and I wish him all the best."
