He took to the stage at Terminal 5 in New York City for a warm up concert before the glittering ceremony on Sunday.

After opening the show with his number one single Blurred Lines, Robin thanked the crowd for their love saying, "As some or you know it has been quite a year for me, thank you for being there for me."

The crooner moved between the piano and the front of the stage for his energetic set, during which he showed of his hip thrusting moves.

Before performing his song Dream World at the gig in aid of HIV and Aids charity Lifebeat, he told his fans the song was inspired by the hard times endured by himself and wife Paula Patton.

"I was going through a tough time and my lady was going truth some tough times and we were dreaming of a better world, with no racism, no poverty and no HIV."

Dressed in a grey three piece suit, with a black shirt and sunglasses, Robin took to the stage following an opening set by Thrift Shop singer Macklemore, who performed some of his biggest hits including Same Love and Can't Hold Us.
