NewsAugust, 30 Katy Perry's early Roar releaseKaty Perry has brought forward the UK release date of her new single, Roar. The California Gurls singer had planned to release the track on September 8 in the UK despite it already being available in most other countries but tweeted that she was bringing it forward by a week. She tweeted: "ATTN UK! I'm letting #ROAR out a week early. Go here to pre-order now, & you get the song THIS SUNDAY, September 1! http://po.st/RoarUKiTunes." The single comes from new album Prism, which is set to be released on October 22. Katy recently told MTV she had changed her mind about the record being dark: "There's not really any darkness on the record. There's definitely some textures and colours but I think I was saying that when I was going through a different phase, but I really let that light in. "The reason why I called this record Prism is because I actually finally let the light in and then I was able to create all these songs that were inspired by letting the light in and doing some self-reflection and just kind of working on myself. "I felt very prismatic because of that; I feel like now I get to show these songs off and share these songs with the listeners and it's almost like I get to beam the colours that I've experienced out from me." Katy is set to close the month-long iTunes Festival in London on September 30.
