McVie for Fleetwood Mac reunion

Christine McVie is set to rejoin her Fleetwood Mac bandmates on stage, Stevie Nicks has revealed.

The singer, who left the group in 1998, will perform one song at two concerts on their upcoming European tour.

Stevie told BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour: "She is going to come and do a song on the second two shows. I think it will probably be Don't Stop. I don't know, but she's coming to Ireland to rehearse with us."

Christine, who wrote some of the band's biggest hits like Don't Stop and You Make Loving Fun, was married to Fleetwood Mac's bassist John McVie, but they divorced in 1976.

Stevie admitted that Christine's departure left a void in the group.

"Both of us in a man's world, from the very beginning, we made a pact that we would be a force of nature together. And we were. We had a lot of power when there were two of us. That wasn't really so noticeable to us because we just had it until she left," she explained.

"And then when she left I realised how much power we had when she was there, and how when she left she took 50 per cent of the power with her... I felt powerless in many ways."

Stevie previously said that a reunion with Christine was unlikely, telling Rolling Stone: "I would say there's no more a chance of that happening than an asteroid hitting the earth. She is done."

Fleetwood Mac's European tour begins on September 20 in Dublin, Ireland, and will include three dates in London.
