Noel Gallagher denies Oasis gigs

Noel Gallagher has said that rumours that Oasis will reunite for a series of shows are "not true".

The Daily Mail had reported that the High Flying Birds frontman and his younger brother Liam would put aside their differences to perform a number of gigs in 2014, to mark the 20th anniversary of their debut album Definitely Maybe.

But Noel's spokesman told NME.com that "it's not true".

Noel had previously dismissed stories of a forthcoming Oasis reunion, denying he would like to reform the band.

He said on talkSPORT in August: "No, it definitely won't happen."

But Liam - who now fronts Beady Eye - told NME that the group had "unfinished business" and suggested that the warring brothers, who fronted the group until their split in 2009, could "bury the hatchet for a quick lap of honour" to celebrate the anniversary.

In June, he hinted that a reunion could take place, saying: "I'd do it for nowt, but if someone's going to drop a load of f*****g money, I'd do it for that too."

And he told the Independent In 2011: "It was him (Noel) that started the idea and now he's saying he's not up for it, but I am. If the people want it, then the people will get it."
