Wall auction heads in One Direction

A wall featuring the signatures of One Direction is being auctioned for charity and has already attracted a bid of more than £5,000 .

All five members of the group signed the wall as they visited West Midlands radio station Free Radio and now a metre-square section has been put up for sale on eBay.

The station is moving premises and had the 27-brick section professionally removed to preserve the names of Harry Styles and pals which were written in silver marker pen.

Nigel Freshman from the station said: "Because we're a radio station we get lots of celebs dropping by for a chat and always get them to sign our 'wall of fame'.

"Given the hysteria surrounding One Direction we couldn't leave it behind, and it seemed only right do something totally unique with it and the general consensus was to auction it off for charity."

The auction will run for 10 days and will raise funds for the Kelli Smith Appeal, which will help to pay for treatment for a four-year-old who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma as a baby.
