NewsSeptember, 25 P Diddy is top of the bling kingsSean "P Diddy" Combs has beaten rivals Jay-Z and Dr Dre to be crowned the most lucrative rapper around. The 43-year-old music mogul banked an estimated 50 million US dollars (£31.1 million) over the past 12 months, with his Bad Boy record label, Sean John clothing collection, Blue Flame agency, contract with Diageo's Ciroc vodka and cable channel Revolt, according to Forbes.com. Hip-hop superstar Jay-Z took second spot after making around 43 million US dollars (£26.7 million) with his live shows as well as other ventures including deals with Armand de Brignac champagne, D'Usse cognac and his Roc Nation label and management firm. Last year's king, music producer Dr Dre, has fallen two spots down to third place, after selling part of the stakes in his headphones brand Beats. But his expansion into music streaming helped to give him an estimated salary of 40 million US dollars (£24.9 million). Nicki Minaj is the only lady on the 'cash kings' list in fourth place, while Kendrick Lamar makes his debut. Other hip-hop stars in the top ten include Kanye West, Lil Wayne (Dwayne Carter Jr), Wiz Khalifa (Cameron Jibril Thomaz), Christopher 'Ludacris' Bridges and Pitbull (Armando Christian Perez). The list, compiled by Forbes.com, is made up of income from touring, endorsements and sales of records and merchandise and other business deals from June 2012 to June 2013.
