I've not heard cover version - Bugg

Jake Bugg says he has not listened to The Voice winner Andrea Begley's cover version of his song Lightning Bolt.

The singer-songwriter, who was named Best New Act at the Q Awards in central London, said there was nothing he could do about other acts singing his songs.

He said: "I f people want to sing my song, I put that song out there to give it to everybody else to do what they want with it. It's not mine any more so if you want to sing it, sing it. I probably won't listen to it though."

Jake is one of 12 contenders for this year's Mercury Prize which is announced on Wednesday next week.

His debut album is up against records including David Bowie's comeback, The Next Day, and past winners Arctic Monkeys who are nominated for their fifth release, AM.
