Dizzee: Don't make Kanye mouthpiece

Dizzee Rascal has said he doesn't think Kanye West should be a spokesman for hip hop at the moment after his recent radio interview hit the headlines.

The Yeezus singer courted more controversy last month when he gave an interview to Zane Lowe for BBC Radio 1, ranting about subjects from music to fashion and wanting to run the first trillion dollar company.

Dizzee told NME: "I think he's going through some stuff, man. I wouldn't make him the spokesperson for hip-hop right now."

Bonkers singer Dizzee has been recording his upcoming album, The Fifth, in Miami but said he had stayed in touch with his British roots.

He said: "I spend all day in my Union Jack pants. A lot of the album is about my experiences in the US. When I'm in Miami there's a few English people there, but there's more of a Latin vibe than an American vibe."

The Fifth includes collaborations with Jessie J, Will.i.am, Robbie Williams, Calvin Harris and Tinie Tempah.
