Bieber tweets about retirement

Justin Bieber has seemingly announced that he is retiring.

The Beauty And A Beat singer revealed on Twitter that he is hanging up his mic.

However, he sparked confusion when he later added that he would be "here forever", leaving fans guessing as to whether his retirement announcement was serious.

The Baby singer first tweeted: "My beloved beliebers I'm officially retiring."

But soon afterwards he said: "The media talks a lot about me. They make a up a lot of lies and want me to fail but I'm never leaving you, being a belieber is a lifestyle."

Justin, 19, then added: "Be kind loving to each other, forgive each other as god forgave us through Christ. Merry Christmas. IM HERE FOREVER."

It was the second time in a week that Justin had mentioned retirement.

The star - whose new documentary film Justin Bieber's Believe premiered in LA earlier this month - recently suggested in an interview that he had plans to quit the music industry.

But his manager Scooter Braun later insisted that it was just that the singer would be taking a break in 2014.

"He said in the interview that he was kidding two seconds later," said Scooter.

"Next year he is just taking a break to just make music and relax and take time to himself. It's the first time [he's had a break] since he was 12."
