Carey, Jackson help Whitney's girl?

Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson are apparently trying to help Whitney Houston's daughter break into the record industry.

The singer and the music producer - who both used to be judges on American Idol - were friends with the late songstress and want to help her 20-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown achieve her dream of chart success, reported Radar Online.

A source close to Randy was quoted as saying: "Mariah and Randy were close friends of Whitney's and were heartbroken after she died suddenly in 2012. They kept in touch.

"Now Randy has decided he wants to make a full court press to help Bobbi Kristina become a star - and Mariah told him she wanted in, too!"

Mariah apparently wants to take on a mentoring role with Bobbi Kristina, whose dad is 80s RnB star Bobby Brown.

But the insider went on: "For her part, Bobbi Kristina is being extremely careful about her first steps into the pop singing world."

Whitney died aged 48 on the night before the Grammy Awards in 2012 from accidental drowning complicated by drug use and heart disease.
