Drake parts ways with PR company

Drake has split with PR company ID-PR, weeks after he failed to make the cover of Rolling Stone.

The Canadian rapper had worked with the firm for the past year over publicity for his third album Nothing Was The Same and his Would You Like A Tour? world tour, but a source claims their relationship soured when Rolling Stone chose to run a tribute to Philip Seymour Hoffman instead of the Drake cover that had previously been planned.

ID said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter: "Drake is an incredibly talented artist and we're proud of our results for Nothing Was The Same and Would You Like A Tour? We wish him the best."

Drake wasn't pleased that he was denied the cover, saying i n a series of tweets that have since been deleted that he was "disgusted" with the editorial decision.

He later wrote: "I'm done doing interviews for magazines. I just want to give my music to the people. That's the only way my message gets across accurately."

Drake - whose real name is Aubrey Graham - is set to close his tour with three dates at London's O2 Arena from March 24.

His latest album, which spawned the singles Started From The Bottom and Hold On, We're Going Home, has topped the charts in the US and was certified platinum a month after its release last September.
