Westlife may reunite 'one day'

Westlife could "one day" reunite, according to Brian McFadden.

The 33-year-old singer, who was in the original line-up of the Irish group, said that while there is no discussions about it at present, they would not rule it out in future.

McFadden broke the hearts of fans when he left Westlife in 2004 but the band continued on as a four-piece with Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Mark Feehily and Kian Egan.

They bowed out of the pop world with a concert in Dublin's Croke Park in the summer of 2012 after a career in which they amassed 14 UK number one singles.

The band racked up 44 million record sales, sung with diva Mariah Carey and even performed for the Pope.

When asked if a reunion was ever likely to happen, McFadden said: "One day we could do something together. There's not even talk of it.

"At the moment all of us are concentrating on our lives and our solo careers. There's no talk of it.

"But it's not something we'd ever say 'No, it's never going to happen'. You never know. One day it could, but it's not being talked about yet."

The musician - who is married to Irish DJ and model Vogue Williams - said that while he might find it a "weird experience", it is one they would all probably relish.

"I think we would probably enjoy it. I haven't been a part of the band for over ten years now, so I think it'd be a bit strange for me because the last time I was with them they were all kids, and now they're all men, and they've all got their own almost grown up kids as well, so it'd be different.

"It'd be very different. It'd be a weird experience," he said.

Since the band members went their separate ways they have pursued solo careers and appeared on television.

While Byrne competed on Strictly Come Dancing, McFadden put on his dancing shoes for ITV's Stepping Out.

Egan was crowned king of the jungle on the most recent series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and is also a coach on The Voice of Ireland.

Filan has recently released a solo album and has appeared as a guest mentor alongside Louis Walsh on The X Factor.

Singer Feehily won admiration for announcing he was gay in 2005, while Byrne is married to former Irish premier Bertie Ahern's daughter Georgina and Egan is married to former Hollyoaks star Jodi Albert.
