Sigma take alpha chart position

London-based dance duo Sigma have gone straight in at number one in the singles chart.

Sigma's new song, Nobody to Love, pipped Brit boyband The Vamps to the top spot, pushing their latest effort, Last Night, into second place.

The track is a remix of Kanye West's Bound 2, which only reached number 55 in the singles charts when it peaked in September 2013.

Elsewhere in the singles chart, Aloe Blacc's The Man slumped from last week's chart top spot to number three, while John Legend's All of Me was at number four. New entry Fancy by Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX completed the top five, the Official Charts Company said.

Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell's For The First Time In Forever, from the score to Disney's Frozen, climbed 18 places to 38, while Paolo Nutini's Better Man surged 31 places to number 40.

Other new entries in the top 40 include David Guetta and Showtek's new collaboration, Bad featuring Vassy, which debuted at 22 on this week's singles chart, while the Kaiser Chiefs' latest single, Coming Home, climbed 14 places to make its Top 40 debut at 31 today.

And the Kaiser Chiefs' chart cheer is not confined to the singles competition, having secured a second week at number one in the albums chart with their blockbuster record Education, Education, Education And War.

Paloma Faith's third record, A Perfect Contradiction, has bounced back to the number two album slot. The London-based singer-songwriter has enjoyed booming sales this week after the highly publicised performance of her latest single, Can't Rely On You, on the finale of the BBC's hit talent contest, The Voice.

Elsewhere in the albums chart, John Legend's Love In The Future climbed two places to number three, its highest position so far, while George Michael's former chart-topping album, Symphonica, remains in the top five for the fourth consecutive week.
