Foo Fighter Battles On After Falling Off Stage
When Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was told to "break a leg" before a live concert in Sweden, he probably wasn't expecting this.
The singer fell off stage while performing his second song to thousands of fans in Gothenburg, and was heard telling the crowd: "I think I really broke my leg."
Although Grohl was carted off stage for medical attention after the tumble, the 46-year-old soon returned on a stretcher, with his right leg bandaged and elevated.
Determined to give his fans a show, the rock star pledged that he would only call off the gig if ordered to by a doctor – and he worked the stage on crutches.
Soon after the set, an X-ray image was posted on the Foo Fighters' official Twitter page – bringing thousands of retweets and an outpouring of well wishes from fans.
The accompanying caption to the photograph read: "Thank you Gothenburg. That was amazing."
It appeared to show a clear fracture in the musician's leg.
