Rapper The Game arrested in punching police officer

Rapper The Game has been arrested in connection with a violent incident, involving an off-duty police officer at a pick-up basketball game in March.

Los Angeles police Officer Mike Lopez said the 35-year-old hip-hop artist, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, surrendered at the department’s Hollywood Division.

The rapper, who met British star Ed Sheeran at a gig in 2013, is accused of throwing a punch at the officer.

The incident was caught on video and posted online.

Lopez said the performer was charged on suspicion of making criminal threats. He posted 50,000 US dollars (£32,712) bail an hour later.
