Daft Punk documentary to feature Kanye West, Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers
Kanye West and Pharrell are among the big names lined up for appearances on the first ever Daft Punk documentary.
Daft Punk Unchained will air on French TV station Canal+ on 24 June after BBC Worldwide France first revealed it was in the making last summer.
Nile Rodgers, Pete Tong, Giorgio Moroder and photographer Peter Lindbergh will also feature in the film, directed by Herve Martin Delpierre and co-written by Delpierre and Marina Rozenman.
Daft Punk collaborator Joseph Trapanese has written a theme song for the documentary after working with the French electronic duo on the Tron: Legacy score.
The film will follow the band as they rise to fame and win Grammy Awards. It will include "extracts from interviews with Daft Punk, rare documents and exclusive interviews with their friends and closest collaborators".
Daft Punk musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter are famously secretive, hiding their identities behind iconic helmets.
Whether or not any new interview footage will be shown remains to be seen, but has not been confirmed.
