Sam Smith reveals Balenciaga news

Sam Smith has swapped the mike for the cameras as he unveiled his new collaboration with Spanish fashion house Balenciaga.

The Stay With Me singer has been revealed as the new face of the brand, as he fronts the campaign for the autumn/winter collection.

The role marks the first time Sam has modelled a fashion campaign.

The 23-year-old star posted a shot of the advert and shared two films on Instagram, using the hashtag #BALXSAMSMITH.

He is in good company – previous Balenciaga campaign stars have included Kristen Stewart, Rihanna and Kate Moss.

Sam, who underwent throat surgery in May, also posted an update about his health on Instagram.

“So just want to keep everyone in the loop; I have been in Boston the last few days to have a check up on my throat, before I embark on my American tour. MY THROAT IS LOOKING BL***Y FANTASTIC,” he wrote.

“So it’s amazing news. So happy. It’s going to be a really tough month of shows but I can’t wait to see you all, and pray it’s going to be a smooth ride. LET’S GO.”
