Celine Dion prepares for late husband's celebration of life

Celine Dion has posted a tribute to her late husband online hours before his Las Vegas memorial.

Rene Angelil will be remembered during a 'celebration of life' event at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Wednesday night (03Feb16), which will be streamed online.

And his widow took to Facebook on Wednesday afternoon to remind fans to tune in, alongside a favourite photo of herself with her late partner.

An aide wrote in French: "During the event, the guests who have all met Rene will speak and will remember the man he was through stories and memories. If you want to send a message of condolence to Celine and her family, know that it is very appreciated."

Angelil lost his battle with cancer in January (16) and his official memorial was held in his native Montreal, at the church where he wed the My Heart Will Go On singer in 1984 and they baptised their first son, Rene-Charles. Thousands of fans and mourners flocked to the Notre Dame Basilica to pay their last respects to the musician and manager.

His funeral, during which the couple's teenage son promised to live up to his father's "standards" as his proud mum watched on, was held at the same church the following day (22Jan16).

The venue for tonight's memorial concert has a special place in Celine's heart - the Colosseum was built to house her long-running Las Vegas residency, which her late husband and manager helped mastermind. It is still not clear who will appear at the memorial, or if Celine will perform.
