Adele hired doctor to protect herself from sick crew members

Adele has reportedly hired a doctor to quarantine sick crew members working on her tour.

The British singer has been battling illness for weeks during her Adele Live tour and cancelled two shows in Phoenix, Arizona last month (Aug16) after a bad cold left her feeling too ill to perform.

After a two-week break at her Los Angeles home, the Rolling in the Deep singer resumed the tour in Michigan, and according to The Sun newspaper, she is so determined to avoid contracting anything else, she now has a doctor on hand to assess her team once a week.

The chatty singer shared her devastation at cancelling the gig, as well as details of her new system, during the Michigan show.

“I had to cancel a show on the last leg of my tour in Phoenix, Arizona and I’ve actually never been so devastated in my life," she reportedly told concertgoers. “We have a doctor that comes in once a week that comes in and everyone gets a badge so I know I can go up to them and talk to them.

“So everyone gets a badge and if they’ve got a badge it means I know I can go up to them and be like, ‘Hi, how are you?’ and touch them. If they don’t have a badge, you are quarantined.”

Adele posted a video message in August as she broke the news to fans that her cold had forced her to cancel a second date in Phoenix.

The Someone Like You singer said the virus had got the better of her after she pushed herself too hard to continue with her mammoth tour.

Speaking into the camera she said: “I’ve been trying to sing all morning and warming up and nothing is happening. I’m so sorry.

"It’s the last thing I want to do but I have to look after myself.

Despite her precautions since then, the 28-year-old singer - who has a three-year-old son, Angelo, with partner Simon Konecki - was in need of medical attention herself after her break.

"I've actually just had a two week break. So I was living it up in LA having a nice holiday, sunbathing without any sun cream so I'm very, very burnt under all of this," she shared with the audience.
