Benson Boone apologises for 'aggressive' crotch grab during Grammys performance

Benson Boone has apologised for "aggressively" grabbing his crotch during his Grammys performance on Sunday night.

The 22-year-old singer went viral on social media on Monday after he was caught on camera grabbing the crotch of his sparkly blue jumpsuit before taking a bow at the end of his performance of his smash hit Beautiful Things.

Benson later took to Instagram to explain that his jumpsuit had become rather uncomfortable.

"Sorry for adjusting my jumpsuit so aggressively on stage tonight," the singer wrote on his Stories alongside a selfie. "That thing was extremely restricting in certain areas."

Benson began his performance in the audience, where his tuxedo was ripped off by Heidi Klum and Nikki Glaser, revealing the skin-tight chest-baring blue jumpsuit underneath.

He then took to the stage where he thrilled the audience by casually doing a flip from a piano.

As well as performing at the event, the musician was up for the Best New Artist award, but lost out to Pink Pony Club hitmaker Chappell Roan.

Benson's wardrobe malfunction wasn't the only viral moment of the night, as Beyoncé's reaction to winning Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter was turned into a social media meme.

The music superstar looked extremely shocked as Taylor Swift announced her win, as country is not typically her genre.

Later that night, Beyoncé finally took home the Album of the Year trophy on her fifth attempt.
