Ed Sheeran's Indian street gig stopped by police

An Ed Sheeran concert on the streets of Bengaluru, India was halted by police.

Sheeran is performing the second of two gigs at the city's NICE grounds venue on Sunday but aimed to give fans a free treat by going back to his busking roots on the streets ahead of the concert.

However, police officers had other plans as footage shared on social media showed an officer shutting down the show by pulling the plug while the British musician was performing his hit Shape of You.

The Thinking Out Loud singer took to social media to state that he had recdived prior permission for the outdoor set.

"We had permission to busk btw, hence us playing in that exact spot, was planned out before, it wasn't just us randomly turning up," he wrote on his Instagram Stories. "All good though. See ya at the show tonight x."
