NewsJune, 6 Lorde addresses Glastonbury rumours![]() Lorde has addressed speculation that she'll be performing a secret set at this year's Glastonbury festival. The Royals singer releases her fourth album, Virgin, on Friday 27 June, and the schedule for the Pyramid Stage that day currently features a 35-minute "TBA" slot before sets from Alanis Morissette, Biffy Clyro and The 1975. When asked about the rumours during an interview on BBC Radio 2 on Thursday, Lorde replied, "Wow! You know... I'm pretty keen, honestly. I feel like... 'cause the album's gonna be coming out right around that time..." Presenter Jo Whiley noted that the "timing would be good", the Green Light hitmaker responded, "I am quite tempted by what's going on because I've got lots of friends playing as well... We'll see, we'll see if I can pull some strings and get there." The New Zealand singer, real name Ella Yelich-O'Connor, previously performed at the iconic British festival in 2022 and 2017. Lorde then went on to share that she was shocked by the scale of the festival when she performed on the Pyramid Stage three years ago. "(It was) absolutely unbelievable - enormous," she continued. "It's just the best - it's the best festival in the world." Teasing her return even further, Lorde said, "I didn't really party (there before), so I would be able to... I'm keen to come and play. We'll see. I've gotta talk to the powers that be." This year's Glastonbury takes place at Worthy Farm in Somerset between 25 and 29 June. The headliners are The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo.
