Eminem helps rap rule at Bonaroo

Eminem has wowed crowds at a US musical festival known for its hippie vibe with a gritty performance of his rap hits.

The Not Afraid star joined fellow hip-hop acts Big Boi, Lil Wayne and Wiz Khalifa to perform at the four-day Bonnaroo event in Tennessee.

Eminem performed a hard-as-nails set at the festival, returning to the stage to chants of 'Shady! Shady!' for an encore of Lose Yourself.

The rapper, dressed in long camouflage shorts and a black t-shirt, told fans: "It's been a minute since I been to the South. Did y'all miss us?"

Meanwhile, Big Boi laid down an early morning set on Saturday, mixing in his own songs with Outkast favourites. Lil Wayne debuted tracks from his forthcoming album Tha Carter IV.

And Wiz Khalifa dropped his hit Black and Yellow while just a few hundred yards away British act Mumford and Sons tore through a set of fiery folk rock. The sold-out crowd appeared to be evenly split among the two rising stars of their genres.
