NewsJune, 14 Evans admits he's no music anorakChris Evans presides over the nation's most listened to radio show, but the star has admitted he doesn't buy music or even have a record collection. The 45-year-old - who took over the Radio 2 breakfast show from Sir Terry Wogan last year - said he lost his "massive collection" of records while working as a mobile DJ, when they fell out of the back of his car. He told the Radio Times: "I've kept the first record I ever bought, which was Chuck Berry's My Ding-a-Ling and I have an old Bush record player that takes 40 seconds to warm up should I ever want to play it. "But apart from that I don't have a record collection, I don't buy music. I don't know how to download music. "I haven't got a computer or an MP3 player. I have a smartphone and I use that to write my shows every day and my column." Chris, who used to present Radio 2's drive-time show, said he did not listen to music in his car because he "would just get far too excited and keep on driving". He told the magazine: "I only listen to music when I'm on air or on the radio at home. "The seven o'clock show on Radio 2 is awesome because it's hosted by people who are steeped in knowledge and give you a masterclass in jazz, folk, blues or country, while you make your dinner." The former Big Breakfast presenter, who has more than nine million listeners, said: "I love listening to music like that - where the best bits are presented to you and explained - as I don't have time to go to record shops, trawl through thousands of records and become an anorak."
