Rumer and John Grant seek Mojos

Singer-songwriters Rumer and John Grant lead the field for this year's Mojo Honours awards with three nominations each.

Also hoping for glory are Arctic Monkeys, who are up for two prizes along with Arcade Fire and Josh T Pearson at the annual bash hosted by the music magazine.

Acclaimed singer Rumer, who played Glastonbury Festival last month, is up for breakthrough act and faces Grant for best album and song of the year.

US singer Grant is also up for best live act.

Arctic Monkeys have now achieved seven nominations in four years at the awards event, which is formally called the Glenfiddich Mojo Honours List 2011. The Sheffield band's single Don't Sit Down Because I've Moved Your Chair is nominated for best song while fourth album Suck It And See competes for best album.

The ceremony will also see a series of other awards given out including classic album, songwriter and lifetime achievement.
