Beady Eye's chart spot shocked Noel

Noel Gallagher has denied being pleased to see his brother's singles chart so low - saying it was a "wake-up call" for his own solo career.

Noel told NME he wasn't happy that Liam's Beady Eye songs The Roller and Millionaire only reached 31 and 71 in the UK singles chart respectively.

"Do you know what? To be honest, it was a bit of a wake-up call, 'cos I was like, right, well... maybe that's what's out there for me," Noel said.

"A lot of people were like, 'I bet you're happy with that!' And I was like, not really, because I was quite shocked."

"So obviously, someone who puts my record out has got some f***ing work to do."

Beady Eye's first track, Bring The Light, was released as a free download but Noel said he won't be folllowing in his brother's footsteps because "I value my music".

Noel recently revealed that the Oasis split stemmed from a row about an ad in the band's tour programme.

But Liam has disputed his brother's version of events, branding Noel "a liar".
