One Direction to head up rich list?

One Direction are set to be named the UK's wealthiest boy band, according to reports.

The X Factor finalists - Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson - have apparently amassed a £5 million fortune each since they formed in 2010, according to the Sunday Times Rich List.

The list, which will be released later this month, will reveal that the boys have rocketed into the list of music millionaires aged under 30, and their combined wealth of £25 million will make them the richest boy band in the country, reported The Sun.

They will also feature in a second Rich List table of leading charity donors, after their Comic Relief single One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks) hit the top spot in 60 countries, having made over 330,000 sales in the UK.

It comes amidst rumours that Harry has recorded some solo music, and is planning to release an album without his bandmates.

According to the Daily Mirror, the 19-year-old heartthrob has co-written some of the songs, which he recorded in Hollywood.

"He loves messing around with some of the new songs he's been working on. He's bounced some ideas off his friend Ed Sheeran and has already laid down some vocals. Harry's priority is obviously still with 1D. But when he decides the time to go solo has arrived, he's likely to have a project raring to go," a friend told the paper.

One Direction, who finished third in the seventh series of The X Factor in 2010, topped the charts in 16 countries with debut album Up All Night, which includes the No 1 hit, What Makes You Beautiful.
