Union J get dolled up for new range

Union J are set to be immortalised in a collection of dolls.

The X Factor boyband, comprising of George Shelley, Josh Cuthbert, Jamie Hamblett and James Hensley, will have a range of miniatures based on them like fellow groups One Direction, NSync and Girls Aloud.

Along with the dolls, there will be Union J-related accessories, games and puzzles made by toy-maker Vivid.

Mary Wood, marketing director at Vivid, said: "Union J are set to be the next big boy band and look to have every opportunity to be a huge success. "What's important for the toy industry is that girls who will be watching Union J's every move are right in the target market for buying fashion dolls.

"Vivid are fast tracking the development of these dolls to ensure we get them out to market following the hype of the boys' own tour," she added.

The Carry You singers, who feature in Kick-Ass 2, will release their second single and debut album in October. The quartet, who finished fourth in the ITV talent show in 2012, will also embark on a tour around UK theatres in December.

Licensing manager Stephen Mills said: "2014 is going to be a very exciting year for everyone involved in Union J!"
