Beady Eye forced to cancel gigs

Liam Gallagher's band Beady Eye have been forced to cancel concerts in Belgium and Japan due to the injury of guitarist Gem Archer.

It is not known exactly what happened to Gem or how, but the band has cancelled an appearance in Lokerse Festival in Belgium tonight (August 5) and Summer Sonic in Tokyo, Japan later this week (August 10).

It is unclear whether Gem will recover in time to play V Festival on August 17.

A statement from the band's management said: "Due to guitarist Gem Archer's injury, the band regret to inform fans that they will be cancelling their upcoming shows in Belgium and Japan until further notice.

"They are very sorry for any disappointment this will cause but as Gem is an integral part of the band there is no way that they can play without him. An update on Gem's condition will follow."

Bandmate Andy Bell tweeted: "'Wanna wish my brother @gemarcherbe a speedy recovery."
