Murphy's back in the music game
Eddie Murphy has revealed he is to release a new album - 20 years after his last record.
The 52-year-old funnyman's forthcoming solo album will be titled 9, and will feature a song with rapper Snoop Dogg, who is now known as his reggae moniker Snoop Lion.
He revealed the news on Twitter, accompanied with the single artwork, writing: "Eddie's new single #RedLight ft. @SnoopLion is the first track from his upcoming album 9. Listen to the single at soundcloud.com/Eddie-Murphy-Music!"
Eddie sings and plays guitar on the track, while Snoop Lion contributes a verse to the reggae song.
The Beverly Hills Cop and Dreamgirls star's last full-length musical release was his fifth album, Love's Alright, in 1993, featuring Michael Jackson on one track, Whatzupwitu.
Eddie is attached to lend his voice to Pernod 'Penry' Porch/Hong Kong Phooey in Hong Kong Phooey: The Movie.
He is also set reprise his role as Professor Sherman in The Nutty Professor III, and return as Beverly Hills Cop Axel Foley in a new movie.
