NewsOctober, 11 Robbie: Go Gentle for my daughterRobbie Williams has confessed he is scared he is not up to the task of being a father and protecting his daughter from the world. The 39-year-old singer - who has battled drink and drug addiction - told Magic FM his new single Go Gentle is a promise to one-year-old Teddy that he will always be there to look after her. Robbie said: "Go Gentle is a promise I'm making to my daughter. It was written when she first arrived on the planet and I'd been a selfish pop star for most of my life and then all of a sudden I've been asked to take care of this whole person. "I still am scared that I'm not up to the task! I'm doing a good job of being dad but it's scary, you have to look after this person for the whole of their life, I'm not very good at even looking after me!" In the song the former Take That warns his daughter about dancing with men at discos and tells her she doesn't have to kiss them. And he promised: "When you need me I'll be there for you." Robbie, who is releasing his second swing album next month, insisted he had nothing but respect for swing singer MIchael Buble. He said: "Anyone that's my age and doing my job, I invariably don't like them because I'm competitive and jealous and petty but with Michael it's different. He's the link to a glamourous past that I wish I'd have been part of. He's the pro's pro I love him to bits!" See the full interview on www.magic.co.uk.
