Perrie Edwards: I'm on cloud nine

Perrie Edwards has revealed she is still on "cloud nine", after getting engaged to One Direction's Zayn Malik.

The Little Mix singer and the One Direction star showed the world they were engaged at the world premiere of the One Direction film, This Is Us on August 20, but Perrie admitted she was more concerned about tripping up on the red carpet than flaunting her diamond engagement ring.

" To be honest, I didn't even think about it. I was going to an event, getting ready with the girls, excited to see him. I get scared at red carpets in case I fall over and I didn't want to do that with the ring. But luckily I didn't embarrass meself!" she told Bliss.

The 20-year-old added: "We're just so happy right now. I'm on cloud nine and so is he."

The couple met on the set of The X Factor, where Little Mix won the 2011 series with mentor Tulisa Contostavlos. One Direction finished third in the 2010 series.

Perrie said her Little Mix bandmates - Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall - will be her bridesmaids.

"When she told me I was verging on tears. Yeah, I am such a baby! We're so happy for her," Leigh-Anne said.

The girl group are preparing to release their new single Move on November 3, and their second album Salute on November 11.

"We mostly recorded it over here, but we did some in America which was quite fun, in Will Smith's studio," said Jesy.

"Unfortunately we didn't meet him. It was quite fun but annoying as it was really, really sunny in LA and we were stuck in the studio!"
