NewsNovember, 22 Christmas in March for MorrisonMatthew Morrison has revealed he covered the recording studio with Christmas decorations when he made his festive mini-album - in March. The actor, best known for playing choir leader Will Schuester in Glee, admitted the idea for a Christmas EP came about as he completed his second album, Where It All Began. "We were in the studio finishing it off, and then we thought, 'Let's finish it off with a bunch of Christmas songs'. It felt like a great idea to release my versions of Christmas tunes that people can enjoy," he recalled. "So we put up some Christmas lights and created a festive vibe - in the middle of March! It shows it is never too early or too late to get into the spirit." Matthew - who admitted he wasn't tempted to make a full-length album, because he had to focus on "his day job" on the TV show - revealed songs by Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby inspired the EP. The 35-year-old looked to his icons for the six-track collection, which includes his renditions of Dean Martin's Let It Snow, Bing's I'll Be Home For Christmas and Andy Williams' It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year. "Selecting the tracks to sing was hard. Whenever I hear certain Christmas songs, it brings me back to my childhood and the tone I wanted for the songs on this album was in the sense of classic Sinatra and Bing Crosby - it was great how they were the classics of that era," he said. Matthew's Christmas EP, A Classic Christmas, is released on November 25.
