Swift remains pop's golden girl

Taylor Swift has reclaimed her crown on Billboard's annual Money Makers list.

The Red singer, who topped the rich list in 2012, was back in the top slot after earning around over 39 million US dollars (over £23.8 million) from record sales, royalties and touring.

Country star Kenny Chesney rose three places to second place, thanks to his seventh album Life On A Rock and No Shoes Nation stadium tour, with earnings of an estimated 32.9 million US dollars (£19.8 million).

Justin Timberlake came third, with his comeback after a seven-year break from music earning him around 31.5 million US dollars (£18.8 million).

Rock acts Bon Jovi and the Rolling Stones round out this year's top five.

Taylor topped the list two years ago, but relinquished the crown to Madonna in 2013. Her latest album Red has been a success, making eighth in the list of best-selling records in the US and selling nearly 10 million downloads, while her accompanying world tour had estimated takings of around 30 million US dollars (£17.9 million).

Beyonce, Maroon 5, country singer Luke Bryan, Pink and Fleetwood Mac complete the year's top 10.

One Direction, Mumford And Sons, Justin Bieber and the reformed New Kids On The Block appear in the top 40, which is compiled by data supplied by Nielsen SoundScan, Nielsen BDS and Billboard Boxscore.
