Rixton’s Jake Roche: Dad Shane Richie hasn’t heard album
Rixton frontman Jake Roche has revealed how his father Shane Richie has yet to listen to the group’s debut album.
The 22-year-old singer said he hasn’t even given his dad, who plays Alfie Moon in BBC soap EastEnders, or his mum Coleen Nolan a sneak listen of the foursome’s first full-length record, Let The Road, which will be released tomorrow.
“He hasn’t heard it,” he said at Capital’s Summertime Ball with Vodafone.
“He wanted one of the promo ones, but I said, ‘Just download it, Dad’. So I’ll see what he thinks when the time comes.”
Guitarist Charley Bagnall added: “I bet your mum likes it though.”
Let The Road includes their Number One single Me And My Broken Heart.
“It’s been a six or seven year process so we are very, very excited about releasing it,” Jake said.
“It’s a very honest album – it’s a mix of experiences like growing up and we think other people will relate to it.”
Jake also revealed how he barely saw his girlfriend Jesy Nelson, who also performed at the concert with her Little Mix bandmates.
“I haven’t really seen her. She came and knocked on the dressing room,” he said.
“We’re next to Fifth Harmony but we asked to be put next to Little Mix. I’m really happy she’s here.”
Rixton’s debut album Let The Road will be available to buy from June 8.
